CONSISTENCY OVER INTENSITY – what does this mean for you? When applied to your workout schedule, the consistency of staying active will benefit you even more than the intensity of the workout! ?
Being that this is the beginning of the year, January is a great time to start a habit like this!
If you are just starting to work out, think of this as a way to keep the movement going over time; 20 minutes of walking is an example of a simple integration into your everyday schedule- it doesn’t *have* to be anything absolutely exhausting!!
If you are consistently working out with us and you are including these 20 minutes the remaining days that you aren’t at the gym is going to benefit you and your ability to come back feeling recovered & ready to get back at it the next day you’re at the gym. Those 2 active days at the gym per week may not be enough for progress if you are not active on your off days with simple things! Pick something that will still get your heart rate up on your off days, but will not get you too sore to hop back into your routine workouts during the week! An example of this would be some sort of cardio (we know how much you all love this! ?) like WALKING or if you can’t make it to the gym on a day you had planned, incorporate a quick at home workout with some squats or push ups, or exercises you feel you need to practice more!
