Happy #MotivationalMonday!! 😊
Part 2 of 10 of “HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED”: Reward yourself ⭐️
A lot of the time people think that in order to be healthy, they have to cut things out of their diets or their day; example: cutting out carbs, limiting their time sitting on the couch watching TV, cutting out alcohol, etc.
BUTTTTTT, this often leads to binging on whatever you’re limiting yourself on. This is why emphasizing rewards is a great method to be sure you stay on track!
An example of this would be allowing yourself some sort of “treat” or reward a few times per week. If you are used to having a glass of wine every night with dinner, and you’re trying to stop that, don’t cut it out completely- allow yourself a glass a few dinners per week, and maybe reduce the frequency SLOWLY🐌 Don’t think that just because you didn’t completely get rid of the habit, you weren’t successful! Slow and steady wins the race, ya know?
Tread lightly around the idea of a “cheat day”, because this “reward” can very easily lead to a complete binge the entire day, which in turn can mess up all the progress you’ve made all week! We will often promote little rewards throughout the week instead of a full day 😊
